The D´Alembert System

silveroak_cuad.jpg

This betting strategy, called D´Alembert System is based on the Law of Balance. Basically this law establishes that over a long period, a person hopes to have a greater probability of winning immediately after having lost and vice versa.

Unfortunately, in a casino – be it online or real, the short time nature of the game, does anything but confirm the Law of Balance. Notwithstanding, many casino players use the D´Alembert System for roulettes, baccarat or blackjack.

The D´Alembert System is simpler: after each loss, the casino player increases his bet by one unit. Or after winning, reduces his bet by one unit. So, if his initial bet is ten euros and he loses, his next bet will be 20 euros. If he loses again, it will be 30 euros. If he wins that hand, his next bet must be 20 euros.

What makes it differ from other casino systems is that there is not a cycle that immediately makes you go back to 10 euros. Every new bet will be one unit higher or lower than the previous one, depending on whether you won or lost. An inverse system to that of D´Alembert also exists, which consists in inverting the casino strategy: if we win we increase by one unit and if we lose we lower by one unit.
